About Marathwada Mitramandal Pune

The Trust

The trust "Marathwada MitraMandal, Pune" was established in 1967 by the late Hon. Shri Shankarraoji Chavan, former Home Minister, Government of India, as Founder Member and President.

The late Hon. Shri Vilasraoji Deshmukh, Minister of Science and Technology and Minister of Earth Sciences, Government of India, later served as President, heading the board and the advisory panel. Today, Hon. Shri Shivajirao Ganage, an industrialist, is President of the Executive Committee, which also includes many industrialists, academicians and philosophers.

The society grew out of an urge to help Marathwada grow and prosper. Its first aim was to make it easier for students from the region to stay in Pune, by providing hostel or similar accommodation.
